Frequently Asked Questions

What is mobile physiotherapy?

Mobile physiotherapy is a physiotherapy service that comes to you. This is more often than not in your home but we can come to your workplace or even gym if appropriate.

What conditions can a mobile physiotherapist treat?

We can treat the same conditions that would be expected in a clinic setting. To name a few, we treat back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, sport injuries, pre and post surgery, work cover and many more. Click here is a link to more information on the type of patients we can help.

Do I need anything at home for the session?

No! Maybe just a little bit of space for a table to be set up but apart from that, we bring everything! One of the benefits of home physiotherapy is that we can utilise things around your house for your rehab to make sure there are no barriers to getting back to full health.

Can I use private health insurance to claim my session?

Yes! We accept all forms of payment. We bring a hicaps machine so you can swipe your health fund on the spot and get your rebate, pay by credit or debit card or even claim your medicare rebate (if referral from GP) all on the spot. There are a couple of private health funds that wont swipe instantly such as Bupa and Teachers Health, but we will send you an invoice and you can still claim your rebate that day.

Can I use medicare for my sessions?

To claim medicare, you will need a referral from your GP which entitles you to 5 subsidised allied health sessions a year. The plan is called an enhanced primary care plan and is for patients with chronic conditions or multiple conditions. You will get $54.60 back after paying the full fee which we can process on the spot.

What do I need to wear?

Something comfortable and something that allows us to assess the area of injury properly. We will always respect any religious and cultural beliefs and can work around these if needed so please don’t hesitate to discuss these matters on our first appointment.,

How long will the session be?

Initial sessions will be generally 45mins and follow ups 30mins. We offer extended follow consults which are 45mins and will be the same cost as an initial session.

I have pets at home, is this an issue?

Not at all. Some pets can be a bit wary of strangers in their home, so if this is the case and the session might be impacted by a protective pet, it might be best to secure them for the session.
